Have a Fun-Tastic Fall at Triada

Fall is a magical season in Central Texas, a time filled with food, fun and festivities. As the days grow cool and the leaves change to red and gold, it’s the perfect opportunity to get out and experience all there is to see and do in and around Elgin.

With gorgeous scenery, acclaimed barbecue, and the family-friendly Hogeye Festival, Elgin offers a wealth of ways to enjoy the coming season. If you’re a Triada resident – or someone looking for that special place to call home – here are a few suggestions for making the most of this wonderful time of year.

Pig-out at the Hogeye Festival

Each year on the fourth Saturday of October, people from across the region go hog wild at this fun-filled, pun-filled, downtown street festival. An Elgin tradition, the Hogeye Festival features live music, handmade crafts, a BBQ pork cook-off and much, much more. Highlights include a hog-calling contest, the Pearls Before Swine Art Show, cow-patty bingo, a children’s pet parade and dancing to the music of The Sowpremes. It’s a great time to celebrate local history and experience the small-town charm of this warm, welcoming community.

Pumpkin Power

Pumpkins and fall go together like Halloween and candy, and you’ll find a bumper crop of fun right here in Elgin. Local pumpkin patches provide a gourd-geous backdrop for family photos, or pack up the kids and head to the Great Pumpkin Bash (October 12) at Elgin Recreation Center for mini-pumpkin decorating, costume bingo and Halloween-themed games.

Scenic Drives and Hiking

The changing of the leaves is fall’s most spectacular show, and Triada residents have a front row seat. Elgin is surrounded by miles and miles of rolling countryside with a scenic view in every direction. Take a drive down tree-lined backroads or head to Bastrop State Park for an inspiring hike through the season’s awesome color-scape.

A Taste of Texas

Fall is a food lover’s dream, and this little city serves up some of the best offerings this side of the Pecos! One whiff of the mesquite-scented air and you’ll see why Elgin is known as “The Sausage Capital of Texas.” Want variety? Stroll through the historic downtown to find enchanting bistros and cafes, or stop by the Farmer’s Market (open every Thursday) to pick up fresh, local fare.

Fall in love with Triada

This isn’t just a place to live – it’s a place to belong. Designed to bring people together, Triada is a walkable community where neighbors wave from the front porch and children gather at the nearby playscape. This fall, come experience the warmth and friendliness of small-town living just minutes away from Austin. You’ll be glad you did.
